Steve Gillis
Director

As Managing Director of EDC Systems for more than 15 years, Steve Gillis holds extensive experience in the design, development and execution of projects in the electrical and data communications space, with a record of success across commercial and industrial sites.

EDC Systems is based in Tingalpa, Brisbane with a geographic reach throughout South East Queensland, remote Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

The company was formed in 1996 as a partnership between two industry professionals, Steve Gillis and Gary Layt. Each brought a particular skill set to the company and by working hard and delivering great customer service they have built the company to what it is today, providing employment for 18 staff members.

A number of the company’s original clients, including Suncorp and WorkCover Queensland, are still with EDC Systems today, testament to high levels of professionalism and an innate ability to deliver high quality advice and services.

 

Robert Blake
Project Manager

Robert is an experienced electrical industry professional with over 20 years experience with a broad range skills base that covers many areas of the electrical trade within domestic and commercial environments such as power and lighting, communications and data, fire systems and switchboard installation and commissioning.

Robert has the crucial ability to ensure the project is delivered on time within budget.

2014 – 2015 Kingsford Aged Care Apartment Complex. Managing the installation and testing of WAN Fibre Optic back bone cabling, copper network cabling.

Ed Cornel
Project Manager

Ed has more than 20 years experience in the electrical and communications industry. He has been employed as a Project Manager since 2003 and during this time has worked on a wide range of projects involving contract support services, team management, surveying and estimating, producing work specifications and comprehensive Safety Work Method Statements and Risk Assessments. Ed has extensive experience in all facets of the industry including Industrial, Commercial and Maintenance. Ed excels at overseeing the project from planning and inception right through to project completion, ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget.

Ed began in 2003 with EDC Systems and during this time he has displayed an extensive amount of experience in Project & Service Management and his level of professionalism and attention to detail has ensured a continuing positive relationship with clients. Many of Ed’s clients are long term EDC Systems customers.

Mark Hyett
Project Manager

Mark has more than 25 years’ experience in the electrical and communications industry. He has been employed as a Project Manager since 1998 and during this time has worked on a wide range of projects involving contract support services, team management, surveying and estimating, producing work specifications and health and safety method statements and risk assessments. Mark excels at overseeing the project from the planning and inception right through until project completion, whilst ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget.

EDC Systems employed Mark in 2008 and during this time he has displayed his extensive experience in Project Management and his level of professionalism and attention to detail has ensured a continuing positive relationship with clients.

Nicole Condon
Commercial Manager

Nicole has been with the EDC as the Commercial and Administration Manager since 2017 and brings to the EDC Team almost 20 years of administration experience in various industries including oil and gas, entertainment and government sectors.  Nicole oversees all the commercial aspects of the business, from finance, payroll, quality assurance, safety and HR, to assisting the Project Managers.  Nicole’s experience and skills bring a valuable dynamic to the team as she is a true all-round administration professional.

Rebekah Westerman
Administration Officer

Rebekah joined the EDC team in 2021 as the Administration Officer. Bek comes from a strong background in news and media and brings over 10 years of customer service and administration experience to the team.   Bek is the friendly face and voice that greats our customers, and her exceptional organisational skills ensure our office processes and functions run smoothly and efficiently.
