THERMAL IMAGING
Identify Potential Electrical Issues Before They Become Problems
Thermal imaging can help identify abnormal heat patterns, overloaded circuits, deteriorating connections and other potential electrical issues before they result in equipment failure or unplanned disruption.
EDC Systems QLD provides thermal imaging inspections as part of preventative maintenance programs, switchboard reviews and electrical infrastructure assessments, supported by practical reporting and recommendations for follow-up works.
Thermal Imaging Inspections
Thermal imaging may assist with identifying:
- abnormal heat patterns
- overloaded circuits
- loose or deteriorating connections
- switchboard issues
- potential component failure
- areas requiring further investigation
- potential remediation requirements
Turning Inspection Results Into Practical Action
A thermal image on its own only tells part of the story.
Following an inspection, EDC Systems QLD can provide practical reporting outlining observations, identified issues and recommended next steps.
Where further action is required, our broader electrical capability allows us to assist with fault investigation, repairs, switchboard maintenance, component replacement or staged remediation works.
This creates a practical pathway from inspection → reporting → recommendation → resolution.

Underground Electrical Infrastructure Upgrade
EDC Systems QLD supported an aged care facility following multiple underground electrical faults that resulted in loss of supply to several resident homes.
The initial response included emergency fault-finding and temporary supply works to help reinstate power while the condition of the existing electrical infrastructure was investigated. Following testing and a site audit, the existing direct-buried underground cabling was found to be no longer fit for purpose.
EDC subsequently completed an engineered replacement solution, including approximately 200 metres of under-boring, new underground conduits, electrical pillars and upgraded cabling. The works were carefully planned around existing underground services, landscaped areas, driveways and resident access to help minimise disruption across the site.
The transition from the existing supply to the new infrastructure was staged to help reinstate reliable power as efficiently as practicable, with the old faulty cabling disconnected, made safe and clearly labelled.
